As someone who tests numerous beauty and skincare products, you would think having clear skin would come easily for me right? Teenage Noria would say yes, however adult Noria has been suffering with adult acne since the age of 19. Over the past few years, the amount of breakouts I get remain the same, but now they are accompanied by hyperpigmentation and acne scarring as well as cystic acne and way more whiteheads. Definitely not something that helps boost one’s confidence levels. Plus it makes recording videos for reviews super difficult because, although I know a product may be working for me, it wouldn’t truly translate to camera.

I know that 80-90% of my acne problems come from my diet (something I’m slowly working on), but I have noticed that a few products I have used recently have helped to minimize inflammation, provide much needed exfoliators, provide added moisture, and help to fade & reduce the amount of acne scarring and hyperpigmentation. Here is a mini breakdown of those products and how I use them in my skincare routine.

Drunk Elephant Pekee & Juju Bar ($16-$28)

The Pekee Bar is a gentle cleansing bar that moisturizes, clarifies, and balances the complexion. The JuJu Bar is a multitasking exfoliating bar designed to effectively cleanse and gently remove dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. Both are gentle enough to be used on all skin tones.

Morning: I gently wash my face with the Pekee Bar

Night: I use the Peekee bar to remove makeup and excess oil and dirt. Then follow up with the Juju Bar.

Drunk Elephant Rise & Glow Brightening Duo ($23)

(B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum & C-Firma Day Serum)

The B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum is a lightweight serum that helps skin remain moisturized throughout the day. The C-Firma™ Day Serum is packed with numerous antioxidants that work together to firm and brighten the appearance of skin.

Morning: I mix the B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum & C-Firma Day Serum together and apply a thin layer to my face before carrying on with the rest of my routine. I also mix a bit of the B-Hydra into my sunscreen.

Night: I either apply the B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum after I’ve toned or I mix a pump with my oil at the end of my routine.

Katari Beauty Barie Skin Serum Oil ($110)

(you can use code ‘randomlynoria” for 10% off your purchase)

This serum is 100% EURO Organic Certified Prickly Pear Cactus Seed Oil. It is a super rich oil filled with Omega-3, 6, 9 and 12 and all tocopherols and fatty acids, which make a very complex and powerful Vitamin E serum. Can be used on fine wrinkles, on lashes and brows, on decollete and neck and everywhere else where you need a lift, a boost and visibly more plump and smooth skin.

Night: I apply this oil as the last step in my routine if I am not using a sleeping mask. If a mask is being used, I use it right before.

Jade Roller Beauty Jade Roller Pro ($50)

Great for rolling fine lines, helps serum penetrate more deeply into the skin due to the increased blood flow, and used for lymphatic drainage.

Night: Once of twice a week, I apply my Barie oil and use the roller to massage it in.

I use and test many products but I always include these four products into my routine in some way. Recently, I started using all of them at once and my skin has been improving in overall look and feel.
